A convoy with chemical weapons disappears in 1953 from the Spanish army barracks in Tetouan. Meanwhile, in Madrid they suspect it can end up in the hands of Moroccan independence groups to infringe upon French interests in a very delicate moment for the international recognition of Franco’s regime.
"If we want things to stay as they are, things will have to change”. This sentence of The Leopard by Lampedusa and Visconti inspires us, but we turned in the other way round: “we want some things to stay as they are, such as good cinema, in order for many other things to change”. Here, in El Gatoverde, we do believe that change is possible. Change towards a world with no borders, with more solidarity and equality. A world in which people and environment are placed at the core of everything. To promote that change, we have decided to do cinema. If that sounds good to you, we have the feeling that this will be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
