We are very proud of presenting the second edition of the competition “Scripts for Change” of the Another Way Film Festival, a contest that promotes the development of audio-visual projects about sustainability.
We are looking for scripts that reflect the necessity for changing the way we produce and consume in a way that is more respectful with people and the environment. You don’t really know what that means? For El Gatoverde and AWFF it’s something like this:
The main plot or some of the secondary plots will have to address issues related to the change needed for achieving a more sustainable society where solidarity plays a more central role:
Climate change; circular economy; alternative ways of producing, consuming or living;
New models of sustainable economy; sustainable cities, sustainable mobility, sustainable agriculture, collaborative economy, cooperation for sustainable development, etc.
We understand the change towards a solidary and sustainable society to include environmental compromise, a change in our values and attitudes, way of life and ethical principles. We address issues such as responsible consumption, technology, innovation and economy, done in a way that is compatible with the renewal of resources. Finally, touching upon the social or environmental non-aggression, equality,
staying under risk thresholds, assuming civic compromises and social participation, etc.
Sustainable progress requires a multidisciplinary focus. Apart from associating environmental degradation to the problems and possible social costs of development, it aims to propose hybrid approaches integrating the social and the natural in order to provide a stable balanced parity.
Do you feel the impelling need to translate the world you see into paper? Do you want to expose the current transformations or the difficulties that are stopping changes from happening? Do you believe film is the way to manifest it?
If you say yes with your head to all of these questions, don’t let this opportunity slip away: for a better and more sustainable world.
WE WILL RECIEVE SCRIPTS OF TWO GENRES: FICTION AND DOCUMENTARY. THE WINNER WILL RECIEVE A PRICE OF 2000€ + MENTORING SUPPORT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROJECT.
